Completionist requires all four collectible tabs: Creatures, Notes, Data Shards and Codes. Epic's official achievement list confirms the requirement. The photographed checklist from 100% Guides counts 42 creatures, 51 notes, 8 Data Shards and 6 codes: 107 entries. Map completion is a separate goal. Start by checking which Logbook tab is incomplete, then use that category's route rather than revisiting every room.

The four-tab Logbook checklist
| Tab | Guide count | Achievement | Next step |
|---|---|---|---|
| Creatures | 42 | Zoologist | Compare missing entries before searching for another spawn. |
| Notes | 51 | Archivist | Record the missing note names or positions in the list. |
| Data Shards | 8 | Shard Collector on Epic / Defragmented on PlayStation | Use the Data Shard and ending route. |
| Codes | 6 | Cryptographer | Use the code locations guide. |
The counts come from 100% Guides' in-game checklist; Epic confirms the achievement categories. Keep those two kinds of evidence separate: a guide's counted entries are not a developer-published total.
Find the missing category before backtracking
- Open each of the four collectible tabs and write down its remaining gaps. Keep this list separate from your map percentage.
- Group your missing entries by area and floor using the photographed Logbook checklist. It follows the in-game list order and includes locations; use it to match your gaps, rather than guessing from a creature's appearance.
- Choose one area per trip. Add nearby Vaults and Suit Mods or weapon pickups to your own route if those are also unfinished.
- After returning, compare the Logbook with your written list. A trip is finished when the intended entry registers, not simply when you reach the right room.
This is a suggested cleanup workflow, not a claim that every collectible lies on one guaranteed route. Tool requirements and your current save determine which trip makes sense next. For general scanning help, use the Scanner guide.
Master Explorer and Completionist check different things
Epic lists Master Explorer for finishing the map and Completionist for filling the four Logbook tabs. A complete map therefore does not establish that all notes or creatures have been logged. Similarly, finishing the Logbook does not tell you which room is holding back a map percentage.
| What is unfinished? | Use this route |
|---|---|
| A room or area percentage | Map and hidden areas |
| A Logbook tab | The category checklist above |
| An achievement outside the Logbook | Full trophy roadmap |

Missing boss entries or a stuck map: check the patch first
The developer's October 7 update adds defeated unique enemies to the Logbook automatically, including earlier kills after loading the save again. October 10's update fixes Ventilation map completion after dying just after Brood Keeper, plus map problems on saves carried over from the demo. These repairs address different symptoms; they do not replace scanning ordinary collectibles.
Compare your platform's version with the official patch history before repeating a boss or a long route. The October 10 versions are PS5 01.016.000 and PC/Xbox 1.0.1.6. If the issue persists, note your version, area, floor and missing entry when reporting it to the developer.
Logbook completion questions
Can I finish the Logbook after the story?
100% Guides reports that the collectible entries remain obtainable after the main story, with catch-up locations for NPCs and rare creatures. Check its illustrated entry list for the exact missing target.
Do I need to activate cheat codes for Completionist?
No: collecting codes and activating them are separate actions. Leave cheats off on an achievement save; 100% Guides warns that activating them disables trophies. Use the cheat code guide for the scanning and Cryptograph steps.
How much extra playtime should I allow?
It depends on what you already scanned and which tools you have. Compare story and completion playtime, then plan from your own missing-entry list. Do not treat a reviewer's first-ending time as a guaranteed 100% completion time.
