Why End of Abyss is only on Epic for PC
End of Abyss is published by Epic Games Publishing. The Epic listing states that it is developed by Section 9 Interactive AB and published by Epic Games, Inc. As the publisher, Epic sells the PC version on its own store.
Section 9 Interactive chose Epic as its partner. Co-founder Mattias Ottvall told Shacknews that Epic understood the team's vision and trusted its expertise, and that the collaboration has worked well for them. The studio builds the game in Unreal Engine and received an Epic MegaGrant.
The free Fortnite Cel Outfit
Epic announced the Cel Outfit for Fortnite as a gift with purchase of End of Abyss on the Epic Games Store. It is part of Epic's Gaming Legends collaborations. Pre-purchases qualify, as do purchases after release.

The Epic listing gives Windows 10 as the minimum operating system and about 5.29 GB of SSD storage. Processor and memory requirements are still listed as TBC in Epic's product data, and no graphics requirement has been published yet.
Epic vs console versions
The game, price and release date are the same on every platform. Choose Epic if you play on PC or want the Fortnite outfit. Choose PS5 if you have PS Plus and want the $26.99 pre-order price, or Xbox if you prefer that ecosystem and its achievements.

End of Abyss is the debut game from Section 9 Interactive: a single-player, top-down twin-stick sci-fi horror game with Metroidvania progression. You play as Cel, a young combat technician investigating disturbances of unknown origin in an abandoned underground compound. The store text promises branching paths, hidden areas and gear upgrades that open sealed corridors.
