End of Abyss has had two post-launch patches so far. Update 1.012 (PS5) / 1.0.1.2 (Xbox, PC) arrived on October 2, 2026 and fixed a Defibrillator revive freeze, energy-node doors that stayed shut, and map errors. Update 1.013 / 1.0.1.3 followed on October 4 and fixed a bridge progression blocker plus loud static during room transitions. Install the latest version before you keep playing: some fixes unblock affected saves retroactively.

Update 1.013 patch notes (October 4)
- Fixed a progression blocker caused by dying while extending a bridge.
- Addressed performance issues when moving between rooms and levels, which caused poor audio quality and a loud static sound.
If a bridge in your save would not extend after a death, update the game and reload the save from the nearest safe room.
Update 1.012 patch notes (October 2)
- Fixed a possible freeze when Cel was revived by the Defibrillator mod while still taking damage.
- Fixed energy-node doors that stayed closed if you died between destroying the nodes. Saves already affected are unblocked retroactively.
- Map fixes, including a missing room and doors that showed as reset after restarting.
- Other minor fixes and improvements.
The map fix matters most for a game built on backtracking. GameSpot's reviewer said this one-day patch fixed most of the complaints in their review, including the map marking unlocked doors as locked.
Issues reviewers reported at launch
Reviews written on pre-patch builds also mention invisible walls, getting stuck in the environment after a boss fight, and doors that would not show an open prompt until the game was reloaded. Section 9 Interactive has not listed fixes for every one of these, so if you hit one:
- Check you are on the latest version (1.013 on PS5, 1.0.1.3 on Xbox and PC).
- Quit to the menu and reload your last save; this cleared most stuck-door reports in reviews.
- Compare your route with the walkthrough and the map guide to confirm the door is meant to open yet.
How to make sure you have the latest patch
- PS5: highlight End of Abyss, press Options and choose Check for Update.
- Xbox Series X|S: open My games & apps, then Manage > Updates.
- PC (Epic Games Store): updates normally download when the Epic Games Launcher is open with auto-update on; check the version in the game's library settings. See the PC page.
