A full secrets list requires the final game, launching October 1, 2026. What is confirmed: secrets are hidden in the level design's nooks and crannies, behind weak walls you blast with explosives, in loot caches and lore documents, and behind paths sealed until you have the right tool. Find them by scanning walls, exploring dark basements, pulling levers and using your map as a checklist.
Secrets are built into the level design
Level designer Robin Jonsson explained his approach in an official behind-the-scenes video. Nooks and crannies are where he hides the secrets, and he designs a lot of them. In a Metroidvania, he said, you want plenty of hidden spaces.
Co-founder Mattias Ottvall described the game as a world filled with secrets and interesting characters, an idea taken from Zelda and Metroid.
Types of hidden content
| Type | How it is hidden |
|---|---|
| Hidden areas and passages | Behind weak walls you blast open with explosives |
| Loot caches | Fragments, ammo and items tucked into corners and side rooms |
| Lore | Documents and scannable objects about what happened in the facility |
| Sealed paths | Opened later with the grappling hook, keycards, drained water or a ladder tool |
Easter eggs and a complete collectible count have not been revealed yet.
Five ways to find secrets
- Scan everything. Pointed at a wall, the Scanner reveals weak points and hollow spaces, and it highlights lootable resources.
- Check dark basements. Deeper areas turn the lights off; use your flashlight. The strongest enemies wait there too.
- Look for switches, buttons and levers. Some levers are pulled with the grappling hook to open closed passages.
- Come back later. Scanned blockers stay tagged on your map until you have the tool.
- Use the map as a checklist. Collected items get checkmarks, and a fuller map means a more complete run.
Weak walls and explosives
The developers confirmed that explosives blast holes in vulnerable walls. The Scanner identifies which walls are weak and whether there is a hollow space behind them. The C4-like explosive charge is unlocked later, so tag weak walls early and return once you have it.
Lore and story secrets
But Why Tho noted that the Scanner finds bits of lore that tell you about the mystery. The developers prefer to let the world speak for itself rather than explain it. Reading documents is the main way to learn what happened.

Areas sealed until later
Some secrets simply need a tool you don't have yet. The store text promises you can return to forgotten corridors and secrets once sealed away as you grow stronger. The grappling hook, keycards and draining water are all confirmed ways to open new paths.
Why secrets matter
Hidden caches give fragments and ammo, which feed upgrades at workbenches. Since there is no experience system, finding resources is how you get stronger. See best upgrades.
Where to look, by area type
| Area type | What to check |
|---|---|
| Industrial spaces | Corners, dead ends and walls near machinery for weak points |
| Sewer-like sections | Side passages and flooded areas that may drain later |
| Basement levels | Everything, with a flashlight; secrets and the toughest enemies are both here |
| Around levers and switches | Passages that open elsewhere once pulled |
Tools that unlock secrets
| Tool | What it opens |
|---|---|
| Scanner | Reveals weak walls, hollow spaces and loot |
| Explosive charge | Blasts open weak walls |
| Grappling hook | Reaches anchor points and pulls distant levers |
| Keycards | Open specific security doors |
| Flashlight | Makes dark areas explorable |
