End of Abyss is not on Steam
There is no Steam store page for End of Abyss. The official platform list is PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via the Epic Games Store. That list appears on the developer's website, in the publisher press release reported by Gematsu, and in Game Informer's reveal coverage.
The developer's website links to three stores: the PlayStation Store, the Epic Games Store and the Xbox Store. There is no Steam link. Game Informer summed it up in its preview video: on PC, the game is an Epic Games Store exclusive, and Epic is publishing it.
Why End of Abyss is Epic-only on PC
The reason is the publisher. End of Abyss is published by Epic Games Publishing, and Epic sells the PC version on its own store. The Epic listing's copyright line reads that the game is developed by Section 9 Interactive AB and published by Epic Games, Inc.
The relationship goes deeper than distribution. Section 9 Interactive builds the game in Unreal Engine and received an Epic MegaGrant. Co-founder Mattias Ottvall told Shacknews the studio looked for a partner that understood its vision and trusted its expertise, and felt from the first meeting that Epic was that partner.
Will End of Abyss come to Steam later?
Nothing has been announced. Neither Section 9 Interactive nor Epic has mentioned a Steam release, a release window for other PC stores, or an end date for Epic exclusivity. Any claim of a Steam date is unconfirmed.

How to play End of Abyss on PC
Buy the game on the Epic Games Store, where pre-purchase is open now. It costs $29.99 and unlocks on October 1, 2026. Epic's product data lists no requirement for any extra third-party account.

- Install on a Windows 10 or later PC with about 5.29 GB of SSD space.

A bonus for buying on Epic
Buying on the Epic Games Store, including pre-purchasing, adds the Cel Outfit to your Fortnite locker on October 1 at 8 PM ET. It otherwise costs 1,500 V-Bucks in the Item Shop. If you already own it, you receive 1,500 V-Bucks instead, and refunding the game removes it.
What about Steam Deck?
There is no official statement on Steam Deck support. Because the game is not on Steam, there is no Steam Deck verification rating either. Section 9 Interactive and Epic have not commented on handheld PCs.
Be careful with YouTube uploads titled "Steam Deck gameplay." Some appeared before launch, when no public build existed, so they cannot show the real game running on the device.

If you don't want to use the Epic Games Store, End of Abyss also launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 1, 2026. The price is $29.99 on each, and PS Plus members pay $26.99 until launch.

What you get on PC instead
The Epic Games Store version is the full game, launching the same day as consoles at the same price. End of Abyss is a single-player, top-down twin-stick sci-fi horror game with Metroidvania progression, made by a Malmö studio of former Tarsier Studios developers.
